Invitations Tips
Tip 1 If you did not send out Save
the date announcements, your wedding invitation is the first item your guests will see about your wedding. It gives your guests
an idea as to the type and formality of your wedding.
Invitations may be printed or engraved. Formal invitations should be mailed 4-6 weeks before your wedding
date. Informal weddings, invitations ten days prior.
When ordering invitations, order 25 more than you think you will need. It's cheaper to order more in advance
than ordering a small quantity at a later date.
Tip 2 When you address your wedding invitations,
try to avoid using "and guest" when you can. If you donīt know the name of the person coming with your invited guest, then
call the person who will be receiving the invitation and ask what name should be used on the invitation. If you canīt find
out, go ahead and use īguest.ī The personalization and thoughtfulness of finding the name will make your invitation extra
special
Tip 3 Since it's not always easy to read handwriting, number all you reply cards
on the back. Use the number beside their name on your guest list...You have numbered your guest list, right? You can always
fill in the names of the guests yourself before mailing. This helps to insure that everyone knows exactly who's being invited.
Tip 4 Four Months Before Your Wedding Finish your guest list. Order Invitations. Make map card for invitations. Reserve rental items, including table
settings and linens. Begin planning showers and parties. Finalize honeymoon plans. Register for gifts at a bridal registry.
